Barely crossing the border into Mississippi, you experience The Boiling Point, created in the image of "Old Style" Boiling Points or Seafood Patios in southern Louisiana. The Boiling Point was designed to give all the ambiance of a front porch during a noisy family reunion. The Boiling Point is even equipped with a sink in the dining room, a trademark of a true "Old Style" Boiling Point. The checkerboard tablecloths, tin-covered bar, and rustic décor make you feel as though you were at one of South Louisiana's trademark boiled seafood joints. The Boiling Point's "patio" was even built with the brick of Southaven's historic Sowell House
that once stood in its place. The full service shuck-to-order oyster bar allows patrons a treat, not many people this far north enjoy.

The Boiling Point specializes in fresh raw Louisiana oysters on the half-shell, as well as, heaps of spicy crawfish piled high on corn, andouille sausage, and new potatoes. Fresh fish arrives throughout the week, giving people that gulf fresh delight that landlocked communities rarely get to eat. The Boiling Point serves everything from fried, broiled, barbecued, blackened, grilled, roasted, and of course, boiled seafood. Hungry locals order southern specialties such as fried alligator, frog legs, and fried dill pickles regularly.

The Boiling Point has won many awards: Best Seafood Restaurant in Desoto County 2004 by The Desoto Times and in 2005, by The Desoto Tribune; and Best of Show at The American Heart Association's annual fund raiser.

The Boiling Point is locally owned and operated.
